Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the RestMemo Photo application ("the app"). By installing or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. What the app does

RestMemo Photo uses artificial intelligence (AI) to restore old or damaged photographs. You upload a photo from your device, the app sends it to our AI processing partner for inference, and a restored image is returned to your device.

2. Credits and purchases

Restorations are paid via credits. 1 credit = 1 restoration. UHD upscale = 2 credits. Live (animated) photo = 5 credits.
New users receive 1 welcome credit. Additional credits are purchased through Apple's in-app purchase system in packs of 10, 15, 20, or 30.
Credits are consumable — they are spent when you use them and do not expire. They are not transferable, refundable for cash, or convertible into anything other than restorations within the app.
Credits are only deducted upon successful restoration. If a restoration fails, your credit is not charged.
If a restoration succeeds but the result is unsatisfactory, you may, within 60 minutes of the original restoration, regenerate the result once for free. After that, a regeneration costs 1 credit.

3. RestMemo Cloud subscription

RestMemo Cloud is an auto-renewable subscription priced at $0.99/month (or the equivalent in your local currency).
It stores restored photos and originals in our encrypted cloud storage so they're available across your devices.
You may cancel at any time via iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. The subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period.
After cancellation, cloud-stored photos remain accessible for 30 days, after which they are permanently deleted from our servers. Locally-stored photos are unaffected.

4. Acceptable use

You agree NOT to use the app to:

Process photos that you do not have the legal right to use.
Process photos containing illegal content, including (but not limited to) child sexual abuse material, content that incites violence, or content that violates the privacy or dignity of any person.
Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or interfere with the operation of the app or our backend.
Use the app for commercial photo restoration services without prior written agreement.

We reserve the right to refuse or terminate access for any user found to violate these terms.

5. AI output disclaimer

AI restoration is a probabilistic process. The restored image is the AI's best estimate of what the original undamaged photo likely looked like — it is not a literal recovery of the original. The AI may invent details that were not present in the source. Use restored images with this understanding; do not present them as forensic or evidentiary reproductions.

6. Intellectual property

You retain all rights to the photos you upload and the restored outputs.
We retain all rights to the app's code, design, branding, and infrastructure.
By using the app you grant us a temporary, limited license to process your photos solely for the purpose of returning a restored result to you. We do not use your photos to train AI models.

7. Disclaimers and liability

The app is provided "as is". We make no warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any specific photo will produce an aesthetically pleasing result. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including (without limitation) loss of data, emotional distress, or lost business opportunities. Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for credits or subscriptions in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8. Changes to these Terms

If we materially change these Terms, we will update the date above and surface the change in the app at next launch. Continued use after a change indicates acceptance of the revised Terms.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ukraine, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes arising from the Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Kyiv, Ukraine.
